The Sandusky County Agricultural Society and Junior Fair will be awarding $3,000 worth of scholarships. There will be a minimum of three (3) scholarships awarded.

The previous award has been matched by the Kraak Charitable Foundation, Inc. to support youth education and community involvement.

The scholarships will be awarded to Sandusky County students who are/plan to attend a university or vocational-technical school in a course of study that will award an advanced degree or professional certification.

A Sandusky County resident (live, attend school or participate in a Junior Fair organization within Sandusky County).

Applicant must have been actively involved in the Sandusky County Junior Fair or Open Class at the Sandusky County Fair for at least 4 years prior to applying for scholarship.

Applicant must be at least a senior in high school through a sophomore (2nd year) in college (Fall 2017 enrollment).

Have participated/contributed to the Sandusky County Fairgrounds Winter Wonderland in past years.

Applicant must submit with application:
 A wallet size photo (a current school picture is preferred) with your name on the back. This will only be used for program publication for recipient.
 Transcript of High School, or latest school attended, if applicable.
 One signed letter of recommendation (non-relative) (hand written or typed, no longer than 1 page).

The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient’s college, university or trade school. If the winner is not currently enrolled, the money will be held up to one (1) year. Receipt of proof of enrollment and associated cost from the college or institution of enrollment will be required before disbursement of funds.
The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final. Recipients will be recognized at opening ceremony of the 2017 Sandusky County Fair (you or a representative must be present) on Tuesday, August 22nd.

Applications are due no later than 5:00 pm on July 15th in the Junior Fair Office. Applications may be dropped off prior to deadline (in a sealed envelope) to the Senior Fair, OSU Extension or Junior Fair offices; or postmarked by July 15th to: PO Box 124, Fremont, Ohio 43420.
